Erin

I am a graduate of The New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University’s Graphic Design Certificate Program. But it wasn’t a straight path to becoming a graphic designer.

While studying psychology and art history at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I fell in love with photography. I became Vice President of the UMass Photography Society and an intern for a professional portrait photographer. After graduating, I worked as a staff photographer for a group of community newspapers in Connecticut.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time in New Orleans visiting my mother’s family.  That’s where I shot the post-Katrina images featured in Rising as well as an article I wrote for the UMass Magazine about alumni and students working on hurricane recovery efforts in the Crescent City.

It was while working at a portrait studio in Connecticut—where I redesigned their brochures and promotional materials—that I discovered a love of graphic design. I decided to move back to eastern MA for training in graphic design. I love being able to spend my time designing, and it’s always exciting to challenge myself to come up with unique ideas.
